Crackle, Crackle! The leaves crumbled underneath my feet. I looked around the dark gloomy woods. Oo, Oo! An owl fluttered across the sky. I started to turn around. I smelled the strange smell of autum’s morning dew. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw a fox silently ran from tree to tree. In the distance I could hear the sound of the crow cawing. The cold breeze made me shudder. As I started exploring again I heard footsteps running behind me. Suddenly I spun around, but nothing was there. Just then I started walking again. Suddenly I heard the footsteps again.
This time I slowly turned around, but still nothing was there. What was that? I wondered. A moment later I started running. It seemed like the footsteps were following me. I spun around and there before me stood an oval shaped object that had black spots all over it. “How did this Ostrich egg get here?“ I asked aloud. As I admired the egg I noticed it was about the size of a cantaloupe. When I picked up the egg it felt like it weighed about 10 pounds. I noticed it had a coarse bumpy surface. When I picked it up it started to rumble. It was starting to hatch!
I droped ( dropped ) the egg and took a step back. After a while the egg’s shell started to crock. Then out hopped a cute fluffy Ostrich! As I knelt down to pet it I noticed it had slime all over it’s feet. The Ostrich’s features were black and white. When I looked around the woods, the mother Ostrich was nowhere in sight. Where’s it’s (its)mother? I wondered. I started to look for more eggs that looked like the Ostrich’s. I dug in the leaves but I couldn’t find any eggs that looked like the cute fluffy Ostrich’s egg. As I swooped the Ostrich and walked out of the woods I suddenly got an icredible ( incredible ) idea, I would look around the neighborhood. “ Chip, Chip,“ the Ostrich chiped ( chipped ) a couple of times when I looked around the neighborhood. I looked up and down our neighborhood four times. Thirty minutes later I gave up looking in our neighborhood. I walked quiety ( quietly )home. I thought maybe I could look in the woods for birds that looked like the baby Ostrich. I looked and I looked for the mother Ostrich. “Oh where is she?“ I groaned. I started jumping up and down forgetting I was supposed to look for the mother. As I leaped out the woods I ran to the bird zoo. From liuxuepaper.com.
I scrolled though the cages to the Ostrich. “Chirp, Chirp, Chirp, Chirp,“ the Ostrich started chirping wildly. I knew right away that one of the Ostrichs ( Ostriches ) was it’s (its) mother. As I said good-bye I remembered the adventure I had with a (an) Ostrich. The next day I made a decision that I would go to the zoo more often. I was so happy that a smile grew on my face when I saw the Ostrich.
