A Family Letter-一封家信
May 20,2003
Dear Son:
How are you getting along with your new life in London? Are you used to the food there? You won't have much rice, I suppose.
Your Mum and I are so proud of you since you are the only one in our family line who has got the chance to study abroad. We don't know anything about your subject, but we are sure it must be useful and important. No wonder you find it difficult to crack. We Chinese have a saying; Difficulty is like a stone while the will is like a hammer, when struck with the hammer, the stone smashes. We sincerely hope that you are the hammer.
We hope to get more good news from you. By the way, don't send back money anymore,we are not in need of it. Keep it to yourself and buy some daily necessities. Anyhow, we know you're a filial son. We feel happy for your success. Don't forget to write to your grandma if you have time.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours affectionately,
Mum and Dad
