　　Suppose that I am chosen to be an exchange student, ready to stay and study in the USA for a while, I will show the American people the best of our country and our culture. I think the best way to achieve this purpose is to bing them some souvenirs that can best represent Chinese characteristics. I would choose Chinese Ties.

　　The reasons for my choice are twofold. First things first, it symbolizes a Chinese dream, a dream deeply rooted in the Chinese culture—a harmonious society. Typically round in shape, a Chinese Tie reflects ancient Chinese outlook on the world, which, they believe, should be round. In turn, round things signify a harmony. Secondly, I think few things are so wonderful as a…., since just in its middle is a square hole, which has another meaning– the idea of order and rule.

　　Perhaps, there are numerous things that can stand for China, such as …… However, the best that can visualize China, as far as I am concerned, is the Chinese tie.

　　The Fascinations of China

　　China, one of the cradles of human civilization, possesses so many treasures with Chinese characteristics that numerous foreign friends come to visit her. What's more, it is said to be the only construction that can be seen from the outer space. In the imperial periods, it was used in defense of the dynasties. Since liberation, it has become a place of interest. There is a famous saying: "He who does not reach the Great Wall isn't a true man."

　　China is home to Panda, an animal with only two colors, white and black, but very cute. It's our national treasure, often functioning as a friendly diplomat. Terracotta-clay warriors unearthed in Xi'an, a famous ancient city-were sculptured in Qin Dynasty, the first dynasty of China. When former U.S. President Clinton came to China, he visited terracotta’s first.
