Development of communication making a multi-cultural world
Because of developments in communication and transportation，countries are becoming more and more alike. In China, the resemblances are shown in language, fashion and life style.
Learning foreign language is becoming unbelievable popular in China nowadays. From the lowest age of 4, to age of 70, Chinese are crazy of learning foreign language, especially English. Every Chinese university has foreign teachers and more and more high schools even primary schools invite foreigners to teach foreign language. Foreign language courses are much more popular and welcomed than Chinese courses in China’s matriculation. And English speaking is in most Chinese companies’ employment requires.
Foreign fashions are welcomed in Chinese cities. As soon as China opened its every area to the world, western fashion has affected the young Chinese people very much. Skateboards, hip-hop music, Japanese street dresses, old school sneakers… everything popular in western countries are popular China as well. Second hand western music CDs, Japanese clothes could be seen in every major cities.
Chinese life style is changing as well. Chinese will not stay at home at weekend any more. Night clubs, wine bars, disco and Kara OK is becoming normal activities in Chinese lives. The choice of foreign food will not be only McDonald’s or KFC, sushi, Turkish BBQ and French cooks are also enjoyed by Chinese people.
But China is still a traditional country, those changes just a representation that China’s economic and communication developments has created a multi-cultural life to Chinese people, and we enjoy it.
