New Year's Day is one of important days for many people in china. Most people spend the New Year's Day at home.

新年对于很多中国人来说是个很重要的节日。很多人都会在家里与家人团聚。

January 1st is considered as the New Year's Day. Most companies, shops, school, and government offices are closed during that time. People prepare for New Year's Day from late December. First, people spend a few days to clean their houses completely.

农历一月一日一直被认为是元旦新年.，很多公司、商场、学校、政府部门在此期间都停业或者放假。人们在12月末就一直期待、准备着元旦新年。人们会花一些时间去把屋子给从里到外的扫一遍。

Some families then put up some new painting from November to be sent in January. The New Year‘s meal is also prepared from the end of December. During the New Year‘s Day, people usually do not cook and relax at home. On New Year‘s Eve, it is common to have a big dinner with family members or friends at home or in hotels and hear bells which informs us of the coming New Year.

一些家庭在新年来临之际贴年画，年夜饭也是在十二月底就已经在准备了。在新年期间，人们很少做饭并在家里放松。新年前夕，人们都习惯于与家人或者朋友在家里或者酒店吃大餐，听新年的钟声敲响。

On New Year‘s Day, people greet each other. Some people wear new coats and visit temples to pray for happiness and health through out the New Year. Children are busy with getting the gifts from their parents and relatives.

在新年来临之际，人们给予彼此诚挚的祝福，人们穿着新衣服到寺庙祈祷来年的幸福与健康。孩子们则忙于收来自父母及亲戚的礼物。
