We stock and sell sublimation supplies to the industry all across the globe, and we also operate a print on-demand fulfilment operation which we ship orders to the end user all across the globe.
We will soon be going direct to the end user with an online artist driven marketplace where artists can be have their artwork and designs on a range of products. We are also planning the opening of a new to market printed chocolate business.
Project Brief
USA, Germany, France, Spain, maybe Scandinavia: Printed Furniture Project Brief
Sole Juice are opening a new business unit in the new year and its overall focus will be in providing for purchase by customers and businesses, a range of printed furniture and fabrics on-demand. This business unit will be called Exactly My Style.
The premise of this new business revolves around providing the customer the option of personalising wooden furniture to match their curtains or cushions, their personality or passion. We print the furniture and ship out within days of receiving the order. There are no minimum orders. This idea is best represented in the home when thinking about the bedroom. Take for a moment a child’s bedroom, this child may have a passion for dinosaurs, unicorns, boats or sport for example, and the furniture can have been bought with these designs on them. When the child grows up their tastes will change, and the parents will have to redecorate. That usually means Painting, wallpaper, curtains, cushions, bedcovers and a change of furniture to match the new look. This can be expensive. What Exactly My Style proposes is a range of furniture which has personalised elements within its design that can be swapped for new designs, this of course saves time and money for parents. Furniture can be upcycled effectively now. At our facility we have a cut & sew department where we can make curtains and cushions, effectively a customer can go online and order updated designs and have them delivered in a matter of days. For the customer (parent) there is no trawling around shops in all weathers and spending a lot of money buying new furniture when there is no need to. If you are redecorating any other room similar principles apply.
For businesses this idea really comes alive. Imagine you are an interior designer, you don’t have to outsource designs to numerous companies to make into furniture and soft fabrics, now you can order online and in one place, one company to deal with and one point of contact. Whatever complimentary designs you can create can be made into products. No more compromises on design. If you are a retailer and want to stay on trend and on fleek, well now you can. Because there is no printing of furniture 18/24 months in advance that retailer can react nice and quickly. The average length of time it takes from design concept to delivery of custom furniture for retailers is 18 months, and during this time there are a great number of costs involved from storage to delivery. The supply chain is very long in this regard. As all goods are on-demand and printed from a digital file there is no need for a customer to stock pile designs. Imagine this in practice. A hotel company has a broken piece of furniture, or pair of curtains, well they can go online and order a replacement when they need it. Very simple and cost effective.
The global furniture market is estimated at $460bn.
I would like to see an evaluation of the market in the chosen country, and the value of the personalisation market. Then dive into the market segments identifying customers, market verticals and sales options.
More will be explained in the client presentation if this project is taken up.
