Questions to consider. Each series of questions below will become the focus of one paragraph in the body of your essay (so 3 body paragraphs total). Make sure to include 1-2 specific examples from the material above in each of those paragraphs while answering a question below:

1. What is rabies? How does it spread from one animal to the other? What is the progression of the disease? Describe attempts to cure and prevent the disease in humans and other animals.

2. What is your chosen disease? What companion animal species do we see this most commonly in? How can the average pet owner create healthy habits to safely live with this pet to prevent this disease from spreading to humans or other animals?

3. What impact do you think our behaviors with our pets have on public health (think vaccinating, spay/neuter, responsibly managing and containing pets, and just keeping our pets healthy in general)? Do you think this is something the general public should be more aware of? Why or why not?
