Good morning everyone. It’s my pleasure to be here.
The content of my lesson is Oxford primary English 5B Unit 9 The English Club.
At first, let me talk about the teaching material.
This lesson is about country nationality and language. The sentence patterns are “Where are you from” “Do you speak…” and the answers.
Teaching Aims:
Aims on the knowledge:
1. Ss can master the new words such as: French, city, visit, British, OK and USA.
2. Ss can master the sentence patterns.
3. Ss can understand and read the text.

Aim on the ability:
1. To improve Ss ability of listening and speaking.
2. To train Ss ability of working in groups.
3. To increase Ss ability of communication.
4. Teach the Ss how to learn interdentally.
Aims on the emotion:
1. To improve the Ss great interest and set up self-confidence.
2. To enable Ss to love our country.
Key points:
1. Master the new words and the sentence patterns.
2. Ss can understand and read the text,
Difficult point:
Ss can learn the text indepently.
Teaching aids:
1. Multi – media computer.
2. tape – recorder.
Teaching methods:
1. Task – based learning
2. CAI
3. Activity – based teaching
Teaching Procedure:
Step 1: Greetings
Step 2: Free talk
Activity 1: picture – talking
T: Talk about hobby to learn the word: visit, the PowerPoint, present some pictures such as Huang Shan to learn the world: visit, Shang Hai to learn the word city then.
T: Ask Ss their hobbies to learn different.
Difficult China and Chinese. These words are some new words in the text.
Activity 2: Let’s talk
The topic is introduce yourself PowerPoint present
Some key words such as name, from, speak
Ss work in pairs then report.
Step 3: Presentation
Task 1: Brain – storming (group work)
The PowerPoint present the visitor’s picture then listen to the tape and work in groups complete sth about him such as name country language and hometown.
Task 2: Listen and answer (group work)
Ss listen to the tape and work in groups answer two questions:
Question 1: How many children are there in the English Club?
        2: Who are they?
PowerPoint present the children’s pictures when the Ss answer the question.
Task 3: Listen and answer
Ss listen again then work in groups answer a question.
Where are they from?
Encourage the Ss to understand the text when they report it. The PowerPoint present five children’s picture and their countries and languages then learn to read and spell them.
Step 4: Practice
Activity 1: Look and guess
The powerpoint present some sentences about five children. Ss are required to guess and complete.
Who are they? Such as: He’s from ShangHai. He speaks Chinese. He is ___________.
Activity 2: Listen and read
Activity 3: Read and text
Activity 4: Guessing game
The powerpoint present some pictures about stars and cartoon characters then let the Ss describe them. They must use the sentence patterns then let a student back to the screen listen and guess who is he or she?liuxuepaper.com
