Hans Christian Andersen was a famous writer of fairy tales. He was born in 1805 and died in 1875. When he was eleven, his father died. His family was so poor that he couldn't go to school. He had to work. Later some warmhearted people helped him, and he went to school. In 1828, he began to get advanced education. He wrote plays, novels, poems and so on. He worked hard, and he was successful at last. He wrote more than 160 stories. We all like them.
