On the night of National Day, my cousin and I came to the Pearl River to play together.
Ah! It's so busy. Children are chasing along the Pearl River and adults are laughing and talking. The green trees on the roadside set off the street lamps like pearls on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, which is really a "fairyland on earth". The colorful neon lights illuminate the beautiful Pearl River, reminding me of Meng Haoran's poem: a gentle breeze, waves, scattered with stars. What an image!
Going forward is the old Haizhu Bridge. My father said that the bridge had been blown up by the Kuomintang a long time ago and rebuilt after liberation. From the blackened steel, we can see how many storms Haizhu Bridge has experienced. We go westward, ah! What a beautiful Liberation Bridge, like two brilliant rainbows across the Pearl River, no wonder it is also called Rainbow Bridge.
Looking at both sides of the Pearl River, there are many tall buildings. A series of coloured lights blinking in the night sky upstairs. Some are like dancing ribbons, some are like swallows flying, some are like golden carp jumping on the Dragon Gate in myth, and some are like peony fighting for beauty.
Nearby the river, cruise ships shuttle to and fro. The boat was decorated with lights and filled with festive joy. Some of the tourists are drinking tea and laughing, some are singing and playing, and some are watching the moon in the bow. This happy and peaceful scene is the most charming Festival scenery in my eyes!
As we walked and watched, it was late at night. Deeply intoxicated with the beautiful scenery of the Pearl River, we linger on and forget to return.
