BEIJING (Reuters) - Zhang Jingru stands quietly before the photo exhibit: Chinese victims of Japan's germ warfare experiments,e_________①slave laborers, corpses of children killed during a Sino-Japanese war begun 69 years ago on Friday.

As its name suggests, the Memorial Museum of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese War is dedicated to preserving memories of an eight-year war that Beijing says killed tens of millions of Chinese before Tokyo's 1945 surrender to U.S. forces.

"We hate the actions done at that time," said the 22-year-old Zhang whena________②how she feels about the Japanese people now.

"We should not hate the Japanese people but they should remember this history, and the Chinese people will not forget."

Beijing's Marco Polo Bridge, where a militaryskirmish[1]on July 7, 1937, became a spark for an all-out Sino-Japanese war.

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, whose visits to a Tokyo shrine for war dead helped chill ties with China after he took office in 2001, visited the museum in October that year and offered a "h_________③apology" for the Chinese people's suffering.

(1)But Koizumi's repeated pilgrimages[2]to Yasukuni Shrine have cast serious doubt for many Chinese on the sincerity of that and later apologies.

"We Chinese not only care about what someone says. What is more important is what he does," museum curator Wang Xinhua told Reuters.

(2)Recently, Beijing and Tokyo appear to be groping[3]for a way out of their diplomatic freeze, though history as well as regional rivalry and mutual mistrust remain huge barriers.

(3)Some experts blame Beijing's efforts to keep the wartime past alive for whipping[4] up the anti-Japanese sentiment.

Wang rejected that argument, saying it was Japan'sr________④toown up[5]to its past.

"I think no nation or individual would like to keep talking about his own shame to other people," he said.

"But if someone else keeps saying this painful history is fiction, untrue, fabricated, then we Chinese people have to stand up and talk about it," he added. "It is they who keep reminding us about this history we want to leave behind."

S________⑤is mounting that Koizumi will visit Yasukuni on August 15.

"I think it will certainly spark fury among the Chinese public if he visits Yasukuni on August 15," Wang said.

"We hope his successor will not go (to Yasukuni), said Bai Yong, 22, who was also visiting the museum."_____________________________________________" (但是,如果他的继任者还这么做,我希望我们国家能采取什么行动。
