四，英语文化背景知识

目前的英语教学侧重语言现象的讲解，对于英语国家的历史，地理，文化和风俗很少介绍。听力内容广泛，题材多样。学生由于知识面有限或者跨文化历史背景知识的缺乏，常会感觉到听得懂单词却听不懂意思。我们在教学中不能发现，对于学生不熟悉的事物，即使听力材料中没有什么生词，学生理解起来也很困难。语言的学习也应该是文化的学习，了解英语国家的文化背景，才能准确地理解和运用英语。例如：
